How to convert your Personal Instagram account to a Business account

Instagram Professional account helps the algorithm understand your needs and allows you to access the platform's special analytic and advertising features that are not open to personal accounts. Here's how to switch your Instagram account from a Personal to a Professional account:

Step 1: Log in to your Instagram account.

Step 2: Go to your profile and tap on the “three horizontal lines” in the top-right corner.

Step 3: Scroll to the “For professionals” section and click “Account type and tools.”

Step 4: Click “Switch to professional account” and “Continue.”

Step 5: Pick a Category that best describes your business, then click “Done.” (Here, you can decide whether or not to display your selected business category on your profile).

Step 6: A modal will pop up to confirm your changes, click on “OK”.

Step 7:You will then be required to select whether you are a business or a creator, select which best applies to you, and click “Next.”

Step 8:You will be redirected to where you can confirm your contact info, here you can edit your business contact details. Click “Next” or “Don’t Use My Contact Info”.

You can choose to either connect to a Facebook page or skip this step.

Step 9: Next, you can set up your Professional Account (this can be done immediately or later).

How to connect your Instagram business to your Facebook page

Step 1: Log in to Instagram and go to your profile.

Step 2: Click on Edit Profile.

Step 3: Scroll down to the page, if you do not have a page connected, click on “Connect or Create” and click on “Continue”.

Step 4: Log in to your Facebook account, select the Facebook page you wish to connect to your Instagram account and click “Connect”.

Step 5: If you do not have a Facebook page, create one by clicking “Connect or Create.”

Step 6: Then refresh and your Facebook page will be successfully connected to your Instagram account.
